Presentation: “Reinforcing Penn Station as a Nexus for Baltimore’s Transit and Trail Systems”
Synopsis: “Penn Station Partners (PSP), a joint venture between the Baltimore City-based companies Cross Street Partners and Beatty Development Group, is undertaking the master development of the Historic Penn Station Headhouse as well as nearly 40 acres of Amtrak-owned land abutting the right-of-way. The project will catalyze up to 3 million SF of development across a new Penn Station District, reinforcing the station as a gateway to Baltimore and providing fresh amenities for surrounding communities. With our partners at Central Baltimore Partnership, PSP has attracted a $12M RAISE grant to improve multi-modal transit infrastructure and pedestrian experiences. The project team is continuing to pursue funding for infrastructure improvements, including restoring light rail service to the station and constructing a world class greenway that would run above the tracks and along I-83 to link Central Baltimore to the Harbor.”
