The Transit Choices virtual meeting via Zoom was well attended by individuals representing a variety of institutions, organizations, and other groups in the city. This meeting featured two informative presentations from the Baltimore City Department of Transportation and the Central Maryland Transportation Alliance, followed by an interactive and engaging online discussion.

Presentation“2025 CTP Priorities”

SynopsisDirector McBeth will review important projects and priorities included in the recent 2025 CTP. Significant attention will be paid to Highway User Revenues (HUR), and to the following projects/initiatives: Russell Street Viaduct; Hanover Street Bridge; I-83 Signage, Pavement, and Safety Upgrades; Traffic Signal Infrastructure Upgrades; and Complete Streets Projects. Director McBeth will also speak specifically to BCDOT’s focus on ADA compliance.

Presentation“How Maryland Plans to Spend $21.5 Billion on Transportation Over the Next Six Years”

SynopsisPresident and CEO Brian O’Malley and Director of Policy and Programs Eric Norton will share their perspective and comments on this year’s recently released draft Consolidated Transportation Program (CTP), Maryland’s six-year capital budget for transportation projects. In 2024 advocates including Transit Choices played an important part in changing the CTP for the better. Brian and Eric will share thoughts on advocacy efforts to build on that in 2025.
