Tell Your Lawmakers to Take Action!

Dear Transportation Advocates,

We need to get Maryland’s economy back on track. We know that our quality of life depends on a transportation system that is safe, efficient, and gets both people and businesses to where they want to go. However, historic disinvestment over the last decade has hindered the state’s ability to deliver high-quality transit and transportation systems that will help grow our economy, create jobs, and move people safely.

Governor Wes Moore is stepping up to the plate and has proposed a $420 million annual investment to rebuild and modernize our infrastructure that can be leveraged for a total of $700 million in annual new investment in transportation. The MOVE Maryland Coalition, representing more than 70 businesses, advocates, and unions, strongly supports Governor Moore’s proposal. This budget is a critical step toward addressing Maryland’s long-overdue transportation needs.

“You cannot have economic mobility without physical mobility.” – Governor Wes Moore

This plan will:

  • Invest in the safety and maintenance of roads, bridges, highways, and transit
  • Create and sustain 45,000 jobs while supporting small businesses
  • Ensure Maryland receives all historic infrastructure law federal funding and protect Maryland’s AAA bond rating
  • Modernize vital infrastructure assets like I-81, US-15, and the MTA Light Rail
  • Strengthen the Port of Baltimore and expand BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport
  • Enhance roadway safety for all users by investing in Complete Streets projects across the State.

There are only 25 days left in the 2025 Legislative Session but leaders in the General Assembly have so far failed to take action to advance these critical investments. We need the full $420 million to increase safety, restore our transit systems, and grow our economy.
