Presentation“Workgroup on the Reorganization of the Maryland Transit Administration – 2025 Work Session and Report Findings”

Synopsis: The Workgroup on the Reorganization of the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) was established by HB 517 to study the potential of the reorganizing the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) and MTA. The Workgroup comprises legislators, representatives from regional government bodies, MDOT, MTA, and MTA riders. Mr. Winkler will discuss his role providing staff support to the Workgroup and its findings from its 2025 work session.

Presentation“From Commission to Community: The BRTC Newsletter as a Transit Tool” 

Synopsis: Jake Schutt of the Baltimore Regional Transit Commission will present an overview of the BRTC Newsletter, a monthly publication that shares clear, timely updates on transit projects, Commission actions, regional policy, and ways to get involved across Central Maryland. The presentation will highlight how the newsletter took shape, the types of content it focuses on, and why partnerships with groups like Transit Choices are key to growing its audience and strengthening transit advocacy in the region.
