Synopsis: Delegate Edelson will provide an update on the Maryland 2024 legislative agenda and the status of the top transportation bills.

Presentation: “A Maryland Bill to Align Transportation Spending with Climate Goals”
Synopsis: Miguel Moravec, Senior Associate with RMI and Brian O’Malley, President & CEO with Central Maryland Transportation Alliance will present that transportation is Maryland’s #1 source of climate pollution, and must be addressed to meet the state’s goal of reducing emissions 60% by 2031. The Transportation and Climate Alignment (TCA) Act will ensure that future transportation projects align with Maryland’s goals of reducing GHG emissions by expanding clean transportation options. It did not pass in 2024, but legislators and advocates plan to support it in 2025 and are laying groundwork for success.
