Presentation: “Baltimore Red Line: Moving the Project Forward”
Synopsis: The Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) is working with the public and stakeholder to determine a path forward for the Baltimore Red Line in light of evolving federal funding landscape. MTA is evaluating options such as project phasing and revisiting transit mode, to ensure the long‑awaited east‑west connection continues advancing toward construction. This session outlines the federal and state funding challenges shaping this effort and walks through the financial implications of three potential paths: proceeding with the full 14‑mile light rail project, splitting the project into phases, or shifting to bus rapid transit.

Synopsis: Liz Gordon will present the latest updates on the BMORE Bus Plan, including funding updates from the legislative session, design status for a 5th bus division, and potential paths to plan implementation.

Presentation:“Transit Accomplishments of the 2026 Legislative Session”
Synopsis: The 2026 Maryland Legislative Session delivered landmark wins for public transit, highlighted by the passage of the Maryland Transit Administration Reform Act, the Maryland Transit & Housing Opportunity Act, and $24 million secured for a new Baltimore City bus depot. Delegate Robbyn Lewis, Chair of the Motor Vehicles and Transportation Subcommittee, will reflect on this session’s accomplishments and what they mean for riders and communities, and will discuss the work still to be done to improve transit in Maryland.
